VICTORIA MEDINA / Playwright, Director, Producer

Victoria has been invited to participate in The Players Theatre Artist In Residence Program For over twenty years she has dedicated her life to her three passions: photography, writing and performing.  This theatrical journey, One Nation, One Mission, One Promise, represents the climactic 3rd stage of this project which includes all three disciplines along with speaking engagements.  She is so excited to see her trifecta of photos, writing and theater come to full fruition!

It began life as the photographic art exhibit, American Spirit, and was then developed into an Amazon best-selling book entitled One Nation, One Mission, One Promise, featuring exhibit images alongside her original poetry and prose plus quotes from famous and not-so famous Americans.  Images from the American Spirit exhibit were also featured in the debut stage production of the award-winning show, Zuccotti Park – The Musical.

Victoria is also delighted to have joined the Song of Solomon: A New Musical producing team.  She has also produced Latinos and the Business of Acting at the Public Theatre, and has been on the production team of several independent films in Los Angeles.

LAYON GRAY / Consulting Producer

Layon Gray is a theatrical artist that is captivating audiences with each and every play he writes.  Layon has spent more than two decades writing, directing and developing stage plays and films that reflect a wide array of African-American cultural movements, creating new paradigms for the stage and motion picture industry.

Since founding Layon Gray Enterprises, he has guided the company’s growth from a privately held theatre company to one of the entertainment industry’s leading independent companies and a veritable theatre box office force whose may productions include the Off-Broadway Smash Hit Play BLACK ANGELS OVER TUSKEGEE.

A native of Louisiana, Gray quickly ascended as one of Los Angeles’ premiere playwrights earning more than 60 nominations and awards for his works since 2000.  Among the honors are the 2012 NYC Inspire Award, the 2012 Al Sharpton Man of Vision Award, the 2012 PCTF Award (Best Director), and the 2010 NY AUDELCO Award (Achievement Award for Excellence) just to name a few.

ANDREW BEALL / Musical Director & Composer

Hailed by New York Classical Review as “spectacularly virtuosic,” international soloist and composer Andrew Beall’s works have been performed around the world.

Beall’s musical, SONG OF SOLOMON, recently finished a sold-out run at the Thespis New York Festival and he released the concept album starring Tony-nominated Ramin Karimloo who leads an all star cast.  The concept album is distributed on Broadway Records.  The album made Broadway Records history when they changed their policy to international shipping due to the demand from fans overseas.

Mr. Beall has released three solo albums on BMP Records: Deliverance and Glass Jungle, and Concerti.  His concerto, Affirmation, was premiered at Avery Fisher Hall and was recently recorded by the Siberian Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Beall has performed on Broadway in The Lion King, Les Misérables, Spiderman, In The Heights, and A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder.


Steven Beall is a guitarist, composer and arranger who resides in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, just east of St. Paul.   Early in his career he was a student of David Brandon, a protégée of Christopher Parkening.

Steven began arranging and composing for the guitar at the same time.  Publications include: “Calico Dreams, Suite for Marimba and Guitar.”  Other compositions include: “Thornbirds, Suite for Guitar,” “24 Fugal Misadventures for 2 Guitars,” and “Charlevoix Suite for Guitar.”  He has also recorded the CD “Renaissance Rosettes,” available for download on  Steven Beall is the uncle of Broadway percussionist, composer and performer Andrew Beall.


Ernest Felton Baker is a multidisciplinary dance and film artist whose primary goal is to create work that challenges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart through the art of storytelling.  Baker was nationally recognized in 2009 by YoungArts as the first and only U.S. Presidential Scholar to be awarded in Hip Hop Dance on behalf of former President Barack Obama and commissioned to perform as a solo dance artist at Art Basel, The Kennedy Center and on the Emmy nominated HBO Special Bill T. Jones: YoungArts MasterClass.

Upon receiving his MFA in Dance with a concentration in New Media at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, he has gone on to teach at New York University, Sarah Lawrence College, The Ailey School and is currently a Professor of Dance at Wesleyan University.

As a filmmaker, Baker starred in, produced and choreographed Jonah, which received Best Short Under 10 Minutes at the 2017 San Francisco Dance Film Festival - included in the Official Selection of over twenty festivals internationally.

As a result of his achievements in the arts and community Baker’s hometown Opa Locka, Florida presented him with a Proclamation declaring January 23rd ‘Ernest Felton Baker Day.’

ROBERT SHETTERLY / Contributing Artist

Robert Shetterly is an esteemed artist and the founder of Americans Who Tell the  His paintings and prints are in collections all over the U.S. and Europe.

In 2002 Robert began painting portraits of “great Americans who spoke the truth,” and combined both their images and words as a way of to channel his anger and grief after 9/11.  In the process, his respect and love for these people who insisted this country live up to its own ideals, plus his admiration for their courage, helped transform that anger into hope and pride, and allowed him to draw strength from this community of truth-tellers.  What began as a mission to paint fifty portraits has now grown to over 200.

Robert has received numerous awards for his work, including being named a Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow in 2009 that enables him to do week-long residences in colleges around the country.

ERIN ELIZABETH NIHILL / Set & Lighting Designer

Erin Elizabeth Nihill is a lighting & set designer from Brooklyn, NY.  She formerly worked for ABC Studios & “The Dr. Oz Show” for several years.  Erin recently left the television world to return to her theatre roots, and last summer she designed Sonder by Dan Moldovan on the very same Players Theatre stage.  She is also the Technical Director for Imagineworks Theatre, and has designed a plethora of shows with the company, some of which include: Much Ado About Nothing, Once Upon a Mattress, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Shrek, Urinetown, and most recently Pride & Prejudice.  Several times a year Erin also works on a Short Play Festival as the Festival Coordinator.  She is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, where she received a B.S. in TV/ Film, with a minor in theatre.  Victoria is a visionary and Erin is beyond grateful to be working on such an innovative and impactful show that has such a deep message behind it.  Thank you to Victoria & the team!

JENNIFER SNOWDON / Makeup Consultant

Jennifer Snowdon has a roster of celebrities she’s had the fortune to work with.  She has also worked on four Indie films that had theatrical releases, and several others that have been distributed on Amazon and Netflix.

Most recent is “No Pay, Nudity” starring Gabriel Byrne, Nathan Lane, Francis Conroy, Boyd Gaines and directed by Lee Wilkof.  Also included... “Gun Hill Road,” “Naked as We Came,” “Molly’s Theory of Relativity,” and Racing Daylight” with Melissa Leo and David Strathairn.  Jennifer was Makeup Dept. Head for the NY Unit of “Eden,” a foreign film with Greta Gerwick, directed by the up-and-coming director Mia Hansen-Love.

In the Doc World she did hair and makeup for Ellen Burstyn’s Interview in “Touched by Duse,” currently in post-production, and was the Key Makeup Artist for American Masters-August Wilson’s “The Ground on which I Stand” which will be aired this summer on PBS.

EMILY PIERCE / Production Stage Manager (PSM)

Emily Pierce is making her Off-Broadway debut.  She holds an MA in Theatre Arts from Eastern Michigan University and most recently worked for Detroit Actors' Guild on Tony and Tina's Wedding and for Shakespeare in Detroit on Henry V.

Other Regional credits include: Velocity of Autumn (Matrix Theatre); God of Carnage, Steel Magnolias, Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf (Two Muses Theatre); The Altruists (Magenta Giraffe); A Midsummer Night's Dream, Commedia Aladdin, Two Gentlemen of Verona (Water Works Theatre).

KALEN SIERRA HUGHES / Assistant Stage Manager (ASM)

Kalen Sierra Hughes is delighted to be making her official Off-Broadway debut!  Recent credits include: Working (Musical Theatre Association, ASM), Kiss Me Kate (Theresa Lang Theatre, ASM), Beautiful (Bordeaux Box Theatre, PSM), and Now We're Really Getting Somewhere (Bordeaux Box Theatre, PSM).

Other recent credits include: Off-Broadway Benefit Reading of Waiting in the Wings for Out of the Box Theatre Co. (PSM).

Kalen is currently completing her studies at Marymount Manhattan College, working towards a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a double concentration in directing and producing & management.  Kalen would like to thank her friends, family, and Liam for their never ending love and support!

SAM CORNBROOKS / Associate Producer

Sam Cornbrooks is a New York City-based theatre/film producer and entrepreneur, and this is his Off-Broadway debut.  He has worked on an eclectic mix of projects, including the foundation of Metropolitan Youth Theatre in Northern Virginia where he acted as producer and technical director for two full seasons.

Recent New York credits include: The Birds and the BS with Jordan Roth (producer), Moonshine and Mistletoe cast recording (assistant to the producer), and Love's Labour's Lost at The York Theater (Assistant Stage Manager).

In addition to his experience in the entertainment industry, Sam is an entrepreneur operating several companies, including Allied Ink (a screen printing/apparel decorations company) and Share a Shirt (a non-profit apparel distribution company launching in the coming months).  He thanks Mom, Dad, Alex, family, friends, and his mentor Kevin Duda for getting him to where he is today.

WILL RINGWOOD / Production Photographer & Videographer

Will Ringwood is an up-and-coming filmmaker and photographer.  He has produced various documentary and narrative films along with his work as a photographer.  Such works can be found on YouTube.  This is Will's first Off-Broadway production.

He is currently completing his studies at Marymount Manhattan College, majoring in Cinema, Television and Emerging Media.  Will has had the great pleasure of being the photographer and videographer for One Nation, One Mission, One Promise, and is honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with this team of talented artists.  He hopes you enjoy the show!

ALYSSA DENTON / Social Media Marketing

Alyssa Denton is ecstatic to be making her Off-Broadway debut.  She has previously provided social media marketing for Metropolitan Youth Theatre, ArtSpire VA, and Beyond the Page Theatre Company, all in Northern VA.  She has also worked as a social media freelancer for Qnary.

Alyssa is currently pursuing her BBA in Arts and Entertainment Management at Pace University's Lubin School of Business.  She would like to thank Mom, Dad, Gracie, Willa and Noah for their constant love and support.

The Players Theatre has been a jewel in the midst of beautiful Greenwich Village, serving as a magnet for performing artists and their audiences since the 1950s.  This iconic Off-Broadway theater was purchased by Michael Sgouros in 2006 and has since flourished with a multitude of productions, including some of Michael's own in collaboration with his partner Brenda Bell.

Michael Sgouros and The Players Theatre have also been championing artists for many years, and have developed The Players Theatre Musical Theater Program to support and nurture new writers and producers in realizing their vision.
